The Glow Was Real _Misty Gallery Web Page Promo.jpeg

On Saturday, April 26th, Melanin & Muscles—through our signature initiative, The Glow Circle—alongside our community partner Yes Girls Create, and thanks to the generous sponsorship of Tilles Center for the Performing Arts and Jovia Financial Credit Union, hosted a powerful night of art, identity, and inspiration. Mothers, daughters, mentors, and girls from our community gathered to witness the brilliance of Misty Copeland, the first Black woman named Principal Dancer at American Ballet Theatre.

For many, it was their very first time attending a theatre performance—an unforgettable moment filled with pride, possibility, and the realization that greatness lives within them too.
From heartfelt conversations to glowing faces, the evening reminded us exactly why we created The Glow Circle: To give women and girls in our communities, exposure, and support they deserve to dream bigger and shine brighter.
